Questions

  • Who is this program for?
This program is for the beginners, intermediates and/or advanced individuals looking to improve their overall well being and knowledge about fitness & health. This program will benefit individuals in their early 20s to 60s that are looking to improve their overall health & fitness goals, but most importantly, in a Sustainable manner. This plan isn't based on getting you quick results, but rather proper and healthily results that will last a lifetime. Clients that see the best results display the following characteristics: They're coachable They're open minded They're committed They're accountable Who this type of program isn't for: Bodybuilders Powerlifters CrossFit Competitors Short term results focused individuals Uncommitted people While I am a fan of all Powerlifting, Bodybuilding and CrossFit, these individuals typically require very specific programs and diets to meet their goal, which is not my area of expertise.
  • What's different about your program?
Lots. While results are crucially important, what's even more important is the way in which they are achieved. Many programs will promise huge results in a short time span but the reality of it is that the quicker the results come, typically the less likely they are to stay. These short-term results come from making quick and drastic changes to your body. In the Sustainable Life Habits method, we focus on implementing manageable changes and sticking with them until they become habits. These habits then compound, giving you the ultimate lifelong results you're looking for. (Not to say that you won’t see any short-term changes with this method.) Training & Workouts Workouts are based on your goals and needs and not just another recycled plan. They can be adjusted to allow for both gym and home gym workouts. Diet Training There are no diet plans given here but rather you will be coached in how to enjoy many (if not all) of the foods that you are already eating. I believe that a sustainable diet is an unrestrictive one and to do so, you must learn a few basic principles to follow while making your diet choices. These can be easily taught to anyone. Coaching During weekly virtual meetings, we will be focusing on your specific struggle areas and discussing alternatives and solutions that are best suited to your needs.
  • Why would I hire you over a Personal Trainer?
Online Coaches can be a great tool but are not best suited for all individuals and the same can be said about Personal Trainers. Online Coaches are great for people that have basics to advanced understanding of fitness mechanics. They are great for people that are comfortable operating independently in a gym. They are also usually the more cost effective and a convenient choice. Personal Trainers are individuals that can be hired at the gym in order to help you access proper in person form and mechanics. This is ideal for the complete beginner or individuals with very specific needs, injuries, or poor pattern recruitment. Although they are typically more expensive, most PTs are worth the initial cost to help build a solid foundation while starting your fitness journey.
  • Why should I hire you over another Online Coach?
Not all Online Coaches are the same. Most Online Coaches work independently which allows them to operate their business in whatever manner they see fit and/or were taught, for better or worse. Know who you are hiring, including what they stand for in the fitness space. The Sustainable Life Habits process is built on the following beliefs. If it's not done in a Sustainable way, then don't bother Weight should be lost through building your metabolism and not starving yourself "Paper Diet Plans" (AKA a written-out diet plan) doesn't work for long term Sustainability and will not give you the proper knowledge for long term success Almost everything can be achieved nutrient wise through food and supplements should only be used in a case-by-case scenario Cardio can be a great tool for weight loss but it very secondary compared to resistance training
  • Can I have a discount?
Everybody loves a discount! Yes, I know that everybody loves a discount but no I do not give them. The reason is that I find it cheapens the service from both the clients and the Coaches perspectives. From experience, discounted services have always led to lower levels of commitment from the client which is very frustrating for a coach when they are results driven. These services are for individuals that are ready to commit to positive changes in their lives and are willing to pay the price for it, monetarily and figuratively speaking.
  • Do I need to own a gym membership?
No. A gym membership is a great tool to have a part of your arsenal but is most definitely not required. Many people choose to workout from their home but exercises, time frames and results will drastically depend on their Home Gym equipment. Here are a few Home Gym Equipment items that I would highly recommend. A set of adjustable dumbbells An adjustable workout bench A set of Strength Bands
  • Can I do everything virtually?
Yes! One of the best parts about Online Coaching is that it is 100% virtual with no in person meetings. All meetings are held over Zoom making this an extremely flexible option for the majority of people. Yes, you can wear your pajamas to the virtual meetings.
  • Why the name Sustainable Life Habits?
The name says it all. Sustainable Life Habits was built based on the concept of Long-Term Sustainability. In the fitness industry, there are a lot of programs and promises that you can "Lose 30 lbs in 30 days" but these are short term fixes and typically ineffective in the long term. Sustainability is about making manageable commitments and sticking with them long enough for them to become habits with not only fitness but all areas of life. This program will not give you quick short-term results through intensive cardio and an extremely restrictive diet plan but rather helping you to find areas in your personal life where we can begin to make some small sustainable improvements, one by one until you achieve your goal you set out to accomplish.
  • Do you do diet plans?
No. I don't believe in Paper Diet Plans. Although this was the way I was taught about dieting, I find it very ineffective with little to no flexibility and very low to nonexistent in terms of Sustainability. Paper Diet plans do give us something concrete to follow but nobody wants to be on one of these for the rest of their lives. The Sustainable Life Habits approach is to teach you how to properly assess and portion all the foods that you're already eating. This is done by having individuals track their diet for a couple weeks before they are coached through, step by step on how to improve the choices they are making.
  • Can you post a picture to make me laugh?
  • How many days a week do I need to workout?
It's up to you and what you are willing to commit to. One of the best parts about this program is that it is custom tailored towards you and your goals. Some individuals can only commit to working out one day a week, while others may want to workout more like 5 days a week. Again, this all comes down to your commitment level, time frame and personal goals.
  • Do you offer a money back Guaranty?
No. The process works and has been proven to do so time and time again. There have been a few individuals that have seen very little success with this program (as with any) but the deciding factor was not from the program but rather a result of their level of inconsistency and poor commitment. A large portion on the Sustainable life Habits clients extend their contacts and stay on as long term due to the success they see from the program.
  • Can I do this together with my spouse?
Yes & No. While your spouse is more then welcome to follow your plan, the program must be individualized to one specific person. These plans are created and based on body types, habits, results, personal goals, etc. which are all very specific to each individual person.
  • How long will it take me to get results?
It depends. This is 100% dependent on the individual for several reasons including what their current diet & eating habits are, diets they've followed in the past, current & past workout plans, body type, coachability, commitment level, etc. You most definitely can get quick results if you are willing to fully commit but you must also understand that long term SUSTAINABLE results take time. It takes time to create life lifestyle changes and habits.
